IKI AND THE OWL OF BLIGHT

Project 3 - Platformer

Iki and the Owl of blight was my 3rd game project at The Game Assembly. The game was developed by 9 people over the course of 8 weeks on 50% work time. The game was built in The Game Assemblys own 2D engine, TGA2D.

Heavily inspired by the title Ori and the blind forest, Iki and the Owl of blight is a game where you follow Iki - a young forest spirit that sets off on a journey to defeat the owl of blight.

”Dash your way through an infected forest to save it from the menacing blight."

 

MY CONTRIBUTIONS

Gameplay/AI

  • I wrote the camera and polished its movement.

  • I wrote the final boss AI and managed its animations.

    Engine/Pipeline

  • I implemented an area trigger system for level transitions and triggered events.

  • I wrote a system for creating and placing checkpoints in the gameworld.

  • I linked and wrapped Wwise.

    Audio

  • I gathered, post-processed, implemented and tweaked various music and sounds.

    Design

  • I designed and recorded motifs of the music in the game.

  • I wrote the story and designed the theme of the game.
